Procura+ , an initiative coordinated by ICLEI, is calling on local governments to apply for the 2025 Procura+ Awards, a recognition that celebrates institutions implementing procurement initiatives that contribute to a more sustainable and innovative future.

This year’s awards include three categories:
- Sustainable procurement – Recognizes procurements that holistically integrate sustainability, including environmental, economic, circular, and social elements.
- Innovation procurement – Rewards procurement practices that use innovative approaches, purchasing cutting-edge products, services, or works while promoting sustainable development.
- Global initiative – New for 2025, this category allows local governments globally to showcase their outstanding procurement initiatives that drive strategic and sustainable procurement.
The winners and finalists of the 2025 Procura+ Awards will receive numerous benefits, including: free entry to the Procura+ Seminar where the awards ceremony will be held; one year of free membership to the Procura+ Network for winners (if they are not currently members); extensive publicity in ICLEI publications such as case studies; a trophy; and the prestigious title of “Best (Category Title) 2025”, and the “Procura+ Award Winner 2025” badge for use in email signatures and communications.
The awards, assessed by a jury of procurement experts and policymakers (to be announced), spotlight forward-thinking procurement practices with strong potential for replication and scaling up.
