More than 1,300 residents gathered at the Amman National Park, Jordan, on 12 April 2025 for the Amman Hike, a community-driven event to engage citizens in the “Amman is Listening” project. The event included outdoor recreational and educational activities.
The main activity was a 3-kilometer group hike, open to university students, families, and elderly residents. Along the trail, participants were invited to share their views via a structured questionnaire — 510 residents responded, providing insights into local concerns and suggestions for urban improvements.

The initiative’s primary goal was to introduce the “Amman is Listening” project to a broad audience and test methods for collecting community feedback. During the hike, organizers also raised awareness about environmental issues, with volunteers actively participating in trail clean-up efforts — reinforcing the event’s sustainability message. Side activities such as live music added to the day’s festive atmosphere.

Initial results indicate strong community engagement: 88.4% of participants rated the experience 4 stars or higher. Their involvement highlights the important role citizens play in guiding Amman’s planning efforts.
