Bloomberg Philanthropies has opened applications for the 2024 round of its Asphalt Art Initiative, offering grants to cities in Canada, Mexico, and the United States with populations of 50,000 or more. The program will award up to 10 cities with grants of up to $100,000, alongside technical support for implementing art-driven street redesigns to improve safety and revitalizing public spaces.
The deadline for applications is 31 January 2025, with winning cities announced in spring 2025 for installations planned in 2025-26.
Bloomberg Associates has developed the Asphalt Art Guide available in seven languages to help cities design and implement their own projects, featuring examples of successful roadway and plaza art activations from around the world, along with practical steps and advice for effective project development.
