The northern Norwegian city of Bodø will be the European Capital of Culture in 2024 together with Bad Ischl (Austria) and Tartu (Estonia). This is an opportunity for the city to generate cultural, social and economic benefits, foster urban regeneration, change the city’s image, and raise its visibility and profile on an international scale. The European Capital of Culture is an initiative of the European Commission dating back to 1985 and has been awarded to more than 60 cities across the European Union (EU) and beyond.
Bodø Municipality is a member of KS’ Network for Universal Design, established in 2013. The city is making sure that all its buildings have complete accessibility.
