Unpaid care work — often performed by women and essential to sustaining communities — remains one of the most undervalued aspects of city life. In response, Bogotá’s District Care System has reimagined urban public services to better support caregivers, promote gender equality, and make care a shared social responsibility.
To share this innovative model, UNDP SDG Local Action is launching “A practical tool for building caring cities. The case of Bogota, Colombia”, a new publication offering tools, lessons learned, and actionable strategies for local governments to design care systems tailored to their communities.
When? Wednesday, 23 April 2025 at 9:00 AM New York time / 8:00 AM Bogotá time
