Key highlights:

  1. Global advancements: the E-Government Development Index (EGDI) shows a marked improvement globally, underscoring progress in digital infrastructure and services.
  2. Persistent disparities: regions such as Africa, least developed countries, and small island developing states still lag behind global averages, requiring targeted initiatives to bridge the digital divide.
  3. Local e-governance insights: the Local Online Services Index (LOSI) reveals gaps between national and city-level digital governance, emphasizing the need for strengthened local strategies.
  4. New frameworks and tools: the introduction of a Digital Government Model Framework provides nations with a structured approach to effectively implement and monitor e-governance initiatives.
  5. AI integration: an addendum addresses the use of artificial intelligence in public administration, exploring both its transformative potential and associated risks.

The survey emphasizes the importance of digital government in achieving sustainable development, enhancing public service delivery, and fostering innovation. Despite encouraging trends, the findings call for greater investments and collaboration to ensure inclusive and equitable access to e-government services.
