“Guadalajara te Cuida” (Guadalajara cares for you)

is a municipal initiative that places care, equity, and citizen well-being at the core of local governance. Structured around three strategic pillars—community-based public safety, high-quality public services and spaces, and integrated social policies with a care-economy approach—it addresses the needs of historically marginalized groups, including women, older people, children, and persons with disabilities.

As part of this strategy, the municipality launched 23 targeted programs, such as Cuidamos tu Empleo, Guadalajara Está Contigo, and Despensa Segura, benefiting approximately 250,000 residents. These measures include neighborhood policing, accessible urban services, extended paternity leave, gender-awareness workshops, health and scholarship schemes, and support for women-led entrepreneurship.

The initiative also fosters co-responsibility: citizens actively engage through public forums to co-design a safer, more inclusive, and sustainable city.
