On 12 April 2024, the Guangzhou International Award for Urban Innovation officially launched its Metaverse Center, which is an interactive virtual world that allows city planners, policymakers, and the public to engage with various urban innovations. It highlights initiatives from around the globe that focus on sustainability, social inclusion, environmental governance, public policy, and technological advancements.
Users can explore and learn about successful practices that address pressing urban challenges, fostering a global dialogue on sustainable urban development. One example is the “Child’s View of the City” initiative, which encourages children to express their creative visions for future cities through art. This component emphasizes the importance of involving younger generations in urban planning discussions, showcasing their imaginative ideas for community development.
The establishment of the Metaverse Center aligns with the Guangzhou International Award’s mission to create a collaborative network for sharing effective urban strategies. To enter the Metaverse Center go to: https://www.daschow.cn/gzj/tour.html
