Outcomes of the Multi-Stakeholder Advisory Group of the 2025 ECOSOC Partnerships Forum

Following our participation in the Advisory Group, we are pleased to share the following developments: the summary of the meeting held on 25 November is now available here. Based on the insights from the meeting, the President of the ECOSOC has revised the ECOSOC Partnership Forum programme to include a panel on investment strategies for partnerships as part of the plenary session from 4:00 – 5:40 PM. The updated Forum concept note and programme are available here.

The summary report of the online stakeholder consultation ahead of the 2025 ECOSOC Partnership Forum is available here. Key takeaways include the urgency of addressing interconnected global challenges such as climate change, poverty, inequality, displacement, and the digital divide, and the importance of effective partnerships driven by evidence-based approaches, tailored local solutions, and robust governance structures. Recommendations focus on creating dedicated hubs for collaboration, empowering local actors, including local governments, through capacity-building and technology transfer, and simplifying funding mechanisms, together with promoting inclusion of marginalized voices and robust monitoring frameworks.
