SDG Local Action supports Mayors Challenge cities to document and communicate their project results. UNDP is also happy to help disseminate their innovative ideas to inspire other local governments around the world and facilitate learning from the solutions implemented.

Documenting your local action

We will help you documenting your project progress through:

  • A dedicated city webpage hosted by the UN SDG Action Campaign. This webpage is your space to communicate progress on your activities. It will also serve as a repository for documents and events, and as a place to record what you did during the 2 years of project implementation. See some examples of past winners of the Challenge here www.sdglocalaction.org/solutions

  • Final guidelines on the project learnings. UNDP will work with you to produce a final document summarizing the project’s lessons learned. We will also translate it into several languages and present the results through webinars. See examples of past winners’ guidelines here: https://sdglocalaction.org/guidelines/

Communicating results

UNDP has the following tools available to help you communicate your innovation globally:

  • A monthly newsletter connects your work to the broader SDG local action agenda.

Inspiring others through learning and knowledge generation

You will have the opportunity to join a global community of local and regional governments to share your challenge and learn about solutions that other cities are already implementing. Our offer includes:

  • Peer-learning clinics bringing small groups of local governments together for city-to-city exchanges.
  • Research notes respond to city questions and thematic priorities.

Visualizing results

  • Data visualizations translate your results into interactive stories, maps, or dashboards.
