The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), through its SDG Local Action initiative, is pleased to invite local and regional governments to participate to its upcoming Venice Winter School taking place in Venice, Italy, from 20 to 22 October 2026.
This international meeting will convene city leaders, senior officials, and practitioners from around the world to explore concrete, practical, and experience-based solutions to strengthen public service delivery at the local level.
The event will focus on exploring four city experiences and how they have transformed city management challenge into solutions. Other cities will be invited to react with their own lessons learnt and innovative approaches to problem solving. The concept note and the latest agenda is available in the event’s webpage.

The Winter School will provide a unique platform for peer learning, knowledge exchange, and collaborative problem-solving focused on improving essential services and accelerating progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Participants will engage in interactive sessions, case-based discussions, and exchanges with fellow local and regional governments that are implementing innovative approaches to deliver more inclusive, efficient, and resilient public services.
Participation is reserved to local and regional governments. The number of places is limited. Please submit your request by completing this registration form. For more information write to info@sdglocalaction.org
