Local and regional governments are committed to implement and accelerate SDG action. They are using Agenda 2030 to improve the lives of their citizens. We have observed that sometimes, local governments lack innovative communication tools to tell their SDG stories to a global audience. In 2022, UCLG, together with the UN SDG Action Campaign, selected 6 territories to tell their SDG story. We worked together with city officials to compile information about specific SDG local actions and produce 6 “infographics” explaining how these 6 cities and territories were being inspired by Agenda 2030 to innovate in their own local action. The 6 “tales” were presented during the Daejeon UCLG Congress thanks to a special display in the Congress, as well as using social media for further dissemination to amplify SDG local action.
