Baguio City, in the Philippines, is providing a platform for its youth to lead in urban safety, well-being, and development.
Through the SIGLAT Youth Innovation Hub, launched in 2023, the city has created a space for over 3,000 young people to engage directly with urban challenges. The hub allows them to co-design solutions, innovate, and implement projects that enhance the livability and safety of Baguio. Initiatives range from digital crime mapping to inclusive street designs, with youth leading the way in transforming ideas into tangible urban solutions.
The hub operates through collaboration with local government, national agencies, civil society, and the private sector to ensure that the initiatives are participatory and sustainable. SIGLAT empowers youth and helps build long-term change in the city’s urban development.
