STRASBOURG’S CIRCULAR ECONOMY JOURNEY: A PATHWAY TO SUSTAINABILITY

The Eurométropole of Strasbourg (France) embarked on a circular journey in year 2010 to foster sustainability and reduce waste. This journey has culminated with the development of its “Circular Economy Roadmap” in 2019 to integrate the circular economy principles into public procurement and operational strategies of the Metropole.

As Strasbourg navigates the complexities of circularity, it faces challenges related to regulation and coordination across its 33 municipalities, as well as adecuate financing.

The latest development involves leveraging the OECD 3Ps framework: People and firms, Policies, and Places.
