On 1 November 2024, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) opened a public consultation for its upcoming Strategic Plan (2026-2029), inviting input from civil society, governments, the private sector, academia, and other stakeholders worldwide.
The consultation happens on SparkBlue platform until 30 November 2024, and participants are encouraged to share their perspectives and insights about:
- Emerging issues: what are the critical, yet under-explored, issues that could significantly impact people and the planet?
- UNDP’s long-term focus: what are the most essential, transformative changes that UNDP should prioritize to foster sustainable development?
- Collaboration for system change: how can UNDP enhance collaborative efforts to drive systemic change and create resilient, sustainable solutions?
UNDP will compile the key consultation findings into a report that will be available on SparkBlue.

The 2026-2029 Strategic Plan will determine UNDP’s direction and priorities for the next four years amid an evolving development landscape, where the urgency to address issues such as climate resilience, social equity, and digital transformation have become paramount.
