Every day, cities around the world grapple with rapid urbanization, socio-spatial inequality, and the need for stronger community cohesion. Urban art—from large-scale murals and graffiti to participatory installations—offers local governments a powerful, low-carbon tool to reclaim neglected spaces, generate cultural and economic value, and give voice to diverse urban narratives.
This webinar will highlight how local governments can embed public art into planning and governance frameworks, design inclusive programmes that engage residents and youth, and unlock new financing mechanisms for creative industries. Practitioners and thought-leaders will discuss emerging governance models, policy instruments, and partnership approaches that transform art into a catalyst for achieving the 2030 Agenda at the local level.
