Since its launch in 2014, the Thought Leaders’ Workshop has functioned as an international platform within the Guangzhou International Award for Urban Innovation, creating a hub to discuss urban issues and creative solutions. It has also brought together local governments, urban practitioners, and private sector representatives to brainstorm ideas, share knowledge, and develop practical strategies.

This 2025 edition will spotlight emerging practices that enhance community resilience, promote sustainability, and strengthen citizen-centered governance in an era of rapid technological transformation. With a strong focus on solutions, the workshop invites participants to rethink the future of cities, exploring how technology can be a powerful catalyst for smarter, more resilient, and inclusive urban living.

Further details and the full program will be available soon on Metropolis’ website.
